Beatrix Potter is most known today for her “Little Books” and tales of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-duck, and others. However, she did so much more than this. Find out about her life, farming, and conservation from her time growing up, moving to the Lakes, meeting Hardwicke Rawnsley, buying Hill Top, championing Herdwick sheep and her bequeathing of items to The Armitt and land to the National Trust, in this behind the scenes special. You will have the opportunity to see more of Beatrix Potter’s fungi watercolours, other drawings, and some of her own possessions in this behind the scenes special.
Janet Edwards, from the Beatrix Potter Society, will be leading the session. Janet lives in Lancashire and is a former Named Nurse for safeguarding children. She is an active member of the Beatrix Potter Society and leads the reading and “Introducing Beatrix Potter” course for new members.
