1878 Born 10th March at Brookfield House, Maghull, where his family lived until they...
1882 ...moved to Roby (G1)
1883 Father, Adolf Jonathan, died.  Oscar was his only son (but see footnote and G6) (G1)
1888 Mother moved to Bedford where Oscar attended Bedford Grammar (?) School (note there are two schools in Bedford, both of extremely high quality, Bedford School and Bedford Grammar  School)(G1)
1895 Oscar left school and went to the City & Guilds Central Technical College in S. Kensington to study Civil Engineering (G1)
1895 Gained diploma A.C.G.1 (G1)
1898 Mother and sister went to Leyden House, Mortlake (G1)
1899 - 1902 Apprenticed to Sir D. Fox, a civil engineer (G1)
1902 Spent a year in Sweden at a quarry (G1)
1903 Went to Transvaal in land survey work (G1)
1906 Went to Brazil in land survey work (G1)
1908 Back to Africa, Angola, to railway survey work (G1)
1909 Joined mother and sister, now living at Silverholme, (W shore) on Windermere(G1)
1912 Designed and flew first sea-plane (G1) (G2)
1914 - 1918 Worked at Loughborough (G1)
1918 - 1925 Worked at Rochester, “Short Bros” (G1)
1925 Married, Sep 15, Barbara Collingwood, and with Oscar’s mother, now over 80, lived at Bettyfold,  Hawkshead, also Hollin  Bank , Coniston.  d Janet(G1)
1927 Prospected for copper in the Coniston Fells(G1)
1953 Died 17 Feb (G1)
